Quiet Getaway for just the big kids

Sometimes you just need a break… So as our anniversary was coming up, the ‘big kids’ decided to take quick getaway up north to Northridge Inn. A beautiful stunning property on the south end of Bernard Lake just south of Sundridge. The boutique hotel or inn was a gem of a find that I came across in our last minute search for someplace not too far to escape to. From the first greeting to our checkout, the staff at the resort were friendly and welcoming!

The property has been lovingly restored and rejuvenated by it’s owners over the last few years since they bought it and their hard work is evident. Gorgeous vistas, chic surroundings that add rather than distract from the natural beauty that surrounded us.

Accommodations

Our room was facing the lake on the ground floor. King sized bed and the usual amenities and…the big plus was the fireplace…. it was a wood burning fireplace! Fantastic! Not only was there a fireplace in the room but there were outdoor fire pits on the patio and for some odd reason there weren’t many people out sitting by the fires so we had one outdoor fire pit to ourselves all evening.

Dining

The restaurant on-site offers fine dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The decor is rustic meets chic and the perfect backdrop to enjoy a fine meal. From varied breakfast offerings to dinner options, there was something for all tastes (including kiddie options but we were sans kiddos). The cocktails were being developed and our bartender/hostess was more than happy to indulge our tastes! And where else do you get a Gin&Tonic with a wee pine tree in it!?

Other lodging options include cabins with private hot tubs, a renovated Airstream RV, and glamping sites.  Amenities on-site include a beach, in-ground pool, and giant 10 person hottub.

A definite treat to celebrate our anniversary and definitely a spot we hope to return to.
